To some extent the Democrat operatives running the Clinton Crime Syndicate’s political campaign ignored or downplayed to their peril the growing white working class opposition to economic globalization and open borders. The “best minds” on the left determined that the white percentage of the vote had declined sufficiently in recent years such that white liberals combined at the polls with minority voters would win. As such, they believed that they did not need to offer any policies or even rhetoric that would appeal to the white working class. They thought that they could continue to be the Wall Street/Globalist/Goldman Sachs party that wins just by drumming up tired, old “victim” politics to minorities and “social left” causes to white liberals. They were wrong. In the end, not enough Hispanics feared deportation, not enough Blacks believed in racially motivated voter suppression, and not enough liberal whites believed the GOP was about to take away their federally subsidized contraceptives. If Democrats had paid attention to Bill Clinton, who reportedly urged direct appeals to working class whites in the Rust Belt to deafened ears, then the Clinton Crime Syndicate would have won.
Fortunately, by nominating the Trump Train (Choo Choo), the GOP returned to its historic roots as a party that truly cares about the American worker. What a great turnaround from when we gave the nomination to an Outsourcer in Chief most known for how many Middle American factory towns he bankrupted and sold off when the head of Bain. If the Trump Train pushes policies that actually benefit the working and middle classes, then we shall see a new GOP majority take hold, thus continuing the trend.
Right now, the Democrats are continuing to march in the wrong direction. The likelihood of electing Congressman Ellison, a radical leftist with ties to the Nation of Islam, to head the DNC will further alienate working class whites. They think that they are embracing the future, and it is true that anti-Israel views are most prominent among millennial voters, who have been indoctrinated into secular progressive nut jobs successfully in campuses all across the fruited plain. Still, the Islamists are and will remain intrinsically totalitarian in outlook (thus favoring heavy handed approaches to stamp out views contrary to their own), whereas most voters in the USA will favor the kind of open society that is anathema to the hard left. Even Hispanics and Blacks may start to wander off the Old Democrat Party Plantation, when it is undeniable that their party is run by a bunch of totalitarian hacks who do not care about them. Always remember that the Trump Train picked up more of these voters along the tracks than McCain and Romney did, which means that absent a national candidate with Obama’s charisma the Democrats cannot expect the same return from these voters.
The one open question is where will the Globalist Outsourcers and Oligarch Insiders who were the Never-Trumpers in 2016 go now that the Trump Train is about to arrive at D.C.? My guess is that most of them will remain within the GOP, because Trump will govern much more as a centrist pragmatist than his rhetoric had implied. Some though will join the Wall Street wing of the Democrat Party, when they see that there is very little popular support for their policies outside of Manhattan (excluding the boroughs), the suburbs of Washington D.C., and Silicon Valley, and thus no chance for a third party movement to win any national elections. They will be then the DLC for the next generation of this wing of the Democrat Party and will start pushing for Chelsea Clinton to carry on the “legacy” of her parents.
